Department of Community Nutrition

 

 

Community Nutrition is an area within the nutritional sciences concerned with promotion of health and prevention of disease in communities and populations. Community nutritionists work on a broad scope of issues ranging from hunger to obesity and deal with social and political units that range from hunger to obesity and deal with social and political units that range from families to governments.

 

Courses

Undergraduate

nutrition throughout life cycle, nutrition in primary health care, food and nutrition ecology, epidemiology  of malnutrition, assessment of nutritional status, food service management, nutrition education, and seminar in community nutrition.

 

Postgraduate

Advanced seminar in community nutrition, advanced nutrition III: vitamins and minerals, food and Nutrition planning, and research methods.
