Dean Of Institute is selected among experienced Nutrition Sciences and other related sciences professionals, it has proposed by Shahid Brheshti’s Dean and then high council approved it. The dean of Institute has many responsibility to direct Institute in the best way.
 
 
Research Council
 
The director of the NNFTRI is the chairman of the Council. The members include ten experts in food, nutrition, and related fields. They are selected through the director's suggestion and the High Council approval. The Research Council is responsible for research planning and approval of proposed research projects.
The Institute began its activities as a WHO collaborating center in nutrition research and training in 1992 following activities related to IDD and re-designated in 1996 and 2003. The Institute also cooperate with other UN agencies, especially UNICEF and FAO in different areas of food and nutrition.
 
International and National Collaborations Office (INCO)
 
The International and national Collaboration Office (INCO) is a multi-faceted communicative body whit in the Institute. Its policy and activities are mainly focused on expansion and facilitation of the international networking and relationships between relationships between the Institute and other international and regional scientific organizations.
 
 
 Main responsibilities
 
-To plan and hold international and regional congresses, seminars and workshops at the Institute.
- To prepare and disseminate Institute's documents, including programs, plans and reports.
- To make international correspondence.
- To follow-up the Institute's membership to related international bodies including associations, societies and NGO's.
- To make necessary arrangements for travels (e.g. visa, accommodation, transportation, etc.) of invited international speakers and consultants, visiting scholars and faculty members' sabbaticals.
-To search for and order new publications.
- To find external funds and grant.
- To assist investigators to design and writing-up internationally funded and joint research projects.
- To provide information on available international events to the Institute's researchers.
- To make needs assessments and arrange for necessary tailor-made training programs and refreshment courses.
- To provide links to useful websites related to Food and Nutrition Sciences.
- To represent the Institute in the key international events.
- To assess eligibility of candidates for participating in international events.
- To initiate ties with Iranian scientists working abroad.  

Industry and Technology Collaborations Office
 
The Industry and technology collaboration Office is a communicative body to make relation with Food and Nutrition. Its policy and activities are mainly focused on expansion and facilitation of the industry relationships.

Public Relations Office
 
The Public Relations office has responsibility to make effective and suitable relations between director with other Internal and external parts of Institute.
