Department of Food and Nutrition Policy and Planning Research
This department as one of the research departments of the NNFTRI is responsible for identifying national food and nutrition issues and developing suitable methods for solving problems and presents them to policy makers and planners.
Main tasks
• To identify different aspects of national food and nutrition problems and provide suitable methods to solve them
• To provide scientific bases regarding national food and nutrition issues
• To consider current national and international scientific issues in policy making
• To find relation between nutrition and food security issues and public sector policies
• To organize research at the Institute and use the outcomes in identifying national food and nutrition research priorities
• To identify research priorities and make relationship with national planning and administrative system
• To persuade research centers and departments of the Institute to consider research priorities
